At PowerMove, we've always believed culture deserves more than a logo on a shirt. It deserves design that reflects the depth, brilliance, history, and legacy of the communities, institutions, and experiences that shape us.
That's the idea behind Periodic Expressions, a growing collection of Periodic Table-inspired apparel, graphics, and cultural remixes rooted in HBCU pride, alumni identity, hip-hop history, and legacy storytelling.
What Is Periodic Expressions?
We like to say that Periodic Expressions begins when culture has chemistry.
The collection explores what happens when identity, tradition, music, memory, and community are broken down into their essential elements and reassembled into wearable stories.
Inspired by the visual language of the periodic table, each design uses symbols, formulas, elemental references, and cultural touchstones to transform familiar ideas into something fresh, meaningful, and uniquely expressive.
The result is something collectible. Something wearable. Something that feels just as at home on the Yard, at Homecoming, at the cookout, at the alumni mixer, or anywhere culture and community come together.
More Than One Formula
What began with concepts like BiSON Periodically on the Yard has continued to evolve through designs such as BiSON Elements of Howard, Al·U·Mn·I Elements of Legacy, and other periodic-inspired explorations of culture, identity, and connection.
Each release shares a common design language while telling its own story.
Some celebrate alumni bonds.
Some honor legacy.
Some draw inspiration from music and hip-hop culture.
Others experiment with entirely new ideas.
Together, they form the growing universe of Periodic Expressions.
The Al·U·Mn·I Series
One of the newest additions to the collection is Al·U·Mn·I Elements of Legacy, a design that reimagines the word alumni through the language of the periodic table.
Built around school colors, founding years, and shared traditions, the series celebrates the connections that continue long after graduation.
